Interpret the Result in APA Style

A paired-sample t-test was conducted to evaluate Memory Functioning Scale-Report (MFS-S) score time 1 and time 2. Memory Functioning Scale scores were higher in the second time ( M = 32.7, SD = 6.33) than in the first time ( M = 32.7, SD = 6.19). The decrease in the scores is not significant, t (39) = -1.36, > .005 (two-tailed). Cohen’s = -0.0215 indicated a large effect size. The mean increase in sleepiness was -0.75 with 95% confidence interval ranging from -1.19 to 1.04.

Table 2 : Compare Means between Total Score in Epworth Sleepiness time 1 and Total Score in Epworth Sleepiness time 2

Interpret the Result in APA Style

A paired-sample t-test was conducted to evaluate the changes in participants’ level of sleepiness between time 1 and 2. Epworth Sleepiness Scale scores were higher in the second time ( M = 13.75, SD = 5.18) than in the first time ( M = 13.45, SD = 4.25). The decrease in the scores is not significant, t(39) = -0.686, > .005 (two-tailed). Cohen’s = -0.108 indicated a large effect size. The mean increase in sleepiness was -0.30 with 95% confidence interval ranging from -1.18 to 0.58.
