Name :
To change the name of a column (variable) in the Data View sheet, click
in the appropriate cell and type in the new name. The names in this
column must not start with a number. They also cannot contain illegal
characters such as / * $, space etc. The variable must be alphanumeric
form.
Type :To define the type of data contained in the column (e.g., characters, strings, numbers, etc.).
Width : To alter the number of digits displayed in the column.
Decimals :To alter the number of digits after decimal place.
Label :Labels column give a long description, which will help to understand the variable are referring to
Value : To give a text label for category codes.
Measure : To label the scale of data, click in the appropriate Measure cell. In my Data, I need to select the suitable value, for example, ID known as the participants is a discrete data. So the measure should be "Nominal".

- In the Value Label, enter the numeric code value "1" in the text box, Value:. This value corresponds to the group representing "rarely", so enter "rarely" in the Label: box.Click on "Add" button.Repeat the above, entering "2" in the Value: box and "sometimes" in the Label: box, and click on the "Add" button.
